Chris -- THANK YOU! I can't tell you how ignorant I feel sometimes when accessibility is an issue. If it's not top of mind, we in the hearing world (or physically able world) just don't think about it. But that's not an excuse or right. Thank you for reminding me.

Robert - You're welcome. I'll check out your site. Thanks for the link.

Great post. Touched on all the major points, except one. Don't forget a large portion of your audience: those that can't listen to your video whether they be Deaf/Hard of Hearing or whether they are in a place where having sound isn't possible.

Captioning for the web is horrible. But it is possible, especially if you are using a professional editing software. Where you can add text over the frames. There is a website and movement to build tstandards based video captioning. CaptioningSucks.com

It also has some great resources and the clear case for captioning.

Thanks Derek,

Time commitment is certainly the biggest hidden factor. But it's misleading. Once you figure it out, the time commitment lessens. Thanks for stopping by again, man.

Really nice post here and in my limited experience with producing video for the web, I definitely agree that your 5 minute video may take several hours to actually complete - especially when you first start and are just learning the ins and outs of what you are trying to do.
