Jason – Great overview of info overload management technique. I haven’t seen nearly as much coverage of use of AideRSS (among other tools) by professionals as for personal blogs. It’s fascinating to see the degrees of “separation of church and state”, as well as all the configurations of tools, that people settle on for their own maximized productivity levels.

Definitely give me a holler if you have questions or ideas about evolutions for AideRSS functionality that would streamline things even more for you.

Mark – Agreed on the streamline benefits of Google Reader. As for why Netvibes … I like the General Panel, built in modules and ability to create a nice landing page that tells me topline stuff all at once. I have Facebook, MySpace, Twitter, weather, and even my POP3 email account pumped all on one page. The ability to consolidate is attractive.

Laurent – The single stream seems to be a big void in Netvibes. Perhaps they’ll find a tab we can use in such a fashion.

I use the del.icio.us widget that comes with WordPress. It allows you to filter your saved links, and only display the ones with certain keywords.

When I find a link that I want to share in my sidebar (RazR’s Choice Cuts from the Web) I just add a special tag.

Agree that RSS is key. Our team of 4 follows collaboratively 700 blogs daily and we wouldn’t do it without RSS (scan 200 posts a day, read 20 that are relevant). Though I don’t use Google reader nor netvibes (which I used). But I used them a while back and didn’t like in netvibes the fact that everything is kept apart and not merged in one stream.

Lots of useful ideas here. You seem like a RSS wizard to me.

I find it interesting that you chose Netvibes, because I keep a bunch of stuff there as well. HOWEVER, I do love the ability of Google Reader to merge everything into a single stream – that’s how I monitor a bunch of social media blogs these days.

Out of curiosity, why Netvibes over some of the other feed readers?
