I've never really “gotten into” OPC' s (online photo contests) but with the advent of Photrade's new system I'd be dumb not to participate!

Of course what I did not realize (until after the fact) that the contest widget you can use to promote your entries, anyone can vote,not just Photrade members…yeah, I'm a dork!

Glad I could help, Shailesh and thanks for commenting. Ironic that Flickr would be too corporate since they have slapped my wrist a couple of times about it being for non-commercial use only. When you press them on it, though, they give you the, “We let the community decide,” bullshit line. They either need to grow some balls or take that part out of their terms of service, in my opinion.

Glad I could help point you somewhere good. I love the Photrade folks.

You're welcome. I'm friends with the folks there so I'm hopeful for their success. I still have to get around the Flickr tendency, but I've told them before the plugins and what-not for WordPress and the like make Flickr easier for what I need. Plus I don't need to monetize my pictures. But it's certainly something worth exploring if you do.

Thanks for this information. I'll be using it for sure. For one thing Flickr has become too “corporate” – I can't get a response back from them on any questions I ask and it's counterproductive in my mind that they don't allow photo contests. YouTube wants you to go at it like crazy and Flickr is snotty about it – I don't get it.

So, for the clients I'm working with who want to do photo contests Photrade will be my recommendation.
