Blog Productivity Tools I Use

by · March 22, 2008

[flickr align="right" alt="Jason Falls blogging"]photo:2325051306 [(small)][/flickr]I’ve finally upgraded to Microsoft Office 2007 on my home machine. Its blog compatibility makes composing and posting quick and simple, though I still post as a draft and go to WordPress to fix little things. It’s not perfect, but it makes blogging better. While I normally don’t post things on the weekends, the new software gave me the idea of throwing out some tools I use to blog to give you some ideas if you’re looking to streamline your blogging activity.

Think Customers, Be Brave, Succeed In Social Media

by · February 27, 2008

Rupp Arena is a geographic and social icon in the state of Kentucky. Not only is it home to the University of Kentucky’s men’s basketball team, arguably the most worshiped group of 13 or so dudes this side of Gethsemane, but it’s where wide-eyed young hillbillies catch little glimpses of the big, wide world by attending concerts.(I was 7th row, center for George Michael’s “Faith” tour and am only ashamed to admit it because my sophomore English teacher was three rows ahead of me and threw her bra on stage.)

RSS Feeds: Who Are Your Must Reads?

by · December 14, 2007

RSS IconI’ve popped a question on Twitter a couple of times this week asking folks for suggestions on organizing my RSS feeds. My current list includes 305 feeds and has become an overwhelming challenge from a time management standpoint. Wednesday night I decided my brain wasn’t big enough to handle this, but I needed to be more specific about the issue, so I asked my Twitter crowd a version of this, which I am now asking all of you:

How To Improve Blogs In 4 Easy Steps

by · November 16, 2007

When I was eight I wrote an essay, certainly for some fascist language arts teacher, which I began with the phrase, “I was born at an early age …” I thought it witty. She thought it C-level work, the grade not professional rank, and it’s a good thing, too. If I’d gotten praise for my smart-aleck-ness early on, it may not have developed into a full-blown case of smart-assism, something of which I’m very proud.

I’m Typing It was then I knew I wanted to write for a living. While I wasn’t sure exactly what I would write or for whom, or even if it would be any good, crafting wordiness into indecipherable babble would be a major part of my life’s calling.
