10 Books To Inform & Inspire Your Spring

by · April 7, 2014

Normally when I review books it’s because a stack of five or so has accumulated on my desk and I need to move them. If I don’t stop, read and review, I’ll move them to a shelf and never look at them again. After a year or so, I’ll take them to Goodwill or Half Price Books and be done with them.

Don’t We All Just Want To Be Unpopular?

by · March 21, 2012

When people have asked (or complained) about the title to my book No Bullshit Social Media, I’ve answered with this explanation: The world isn’t an end sum game. I don’t need every person interested in social media marketing to buy the book. I need a few thousand and we’ll be just fine. If the word Bullshit offends you, the book isn’t for you. Social Media Book Reviews For Your Fall

by · September 2, 2011

The pile of unread books on my desk got so high that I had to dust a few off and produce a few book reviews so I could see over the stack at my clock on the wall. In this book review edition of Social Media Explorer TV, I talk about five books that are all pretty interesting.

The Tao of Twitter from Mark Schaefer, Zarrella’s Hierarchy of Contagiousness from Dan Zarrella, Smart Business Social Business by Michael Brito, Location-Based Marketing for Dummies from Aaron Strout and Mike Schneider and the third edition of The New Rules of Marketing and PR by David Meerman Scott are all reviewed. Depending upon your interest and place in maturity of social media marketing thought, each may be a good buy for you.

So I’ve put together another video review of four books I think are worth your time and effort for this spring. Each has some application to the social media marketing and online communications world.

But on Tuesday of last week I picked up my hot-off-the-presses copy of The Now Revolution by my friends Amber Naslund and Jay Baer. I started reading on a flight from Tampa to Austin. It was 3:05. I put it down, completely read, cover-to-cover, at 4:45. I didn’t even stop to pee.
