8 Principles of Karmic Communication

by · October 17, 2007

You don’t have to be a fan of Constantin Basturea or even a friend-of-a-friend of Christin Eubanks to know Converseon hires good people. But the person that hires the good people proved to be one his own self this morning as CEO Rob Key presented at SMX Social Media in the “Evangelist – The Marketer’s Role in Social Media Marketing,” session.

Peaceful As brand evangelism is what my agency does, I felt it so important to pay attention and see if there were any brilliant insights in the presentation, that I blew off a chance to talk Dave McClure’s ear off enough that one of his 500 hats fell off. Fortunately, he’s a fellow Mountaineer, so he’ll forgive me.

Duping Digg Hot Topic At SMX Social Media

by · October 16, 2007

Digg.com was the primary topic of discussion at SMX Social Media Tuesday and why not? In Chris Winfield‘s words, “Digg is all that anybody cares about.”

The comments and the vibes I got from the discussion, mostly the “Extra! Extra! The Social News Sites” panel featuring Winfield, Neil Patel and Tamar Weinberg, were, however, a little contradicting to what I consider the generally agreed upon appropriate approach to social media.

IMNY Charity Event A Blast

by · October 15, 2007

Just a quick post to share some pictures and thoughts from Monday night’s Internet Marketers of New York charity event to raise money for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. I’ve never left a room with more business cards.

Chris Winfield invited me and he and his 10e20.com cohorts, specifically Danielle, Jake and Victor, were fantastic hosts, introducing me to folks and making a Manhattan oustider feel welcome. My man Brian Wallace and I may have been the farthest travellers for the event, though Brian hails from the NYC area he currently lives and works in Louisville with NowSourcing.com.

Headed To NYC For SMX Social Media, IMNY Charity Party

by · October 13, 2007

I’ve already blogged about how excited I am to be going to SMX Social Media in New York this week. (Yes, I’ll be blogging at least daily, if not more, so stay tuned.)

When I made that first post, Chris Winfield of 10e20 and the Internet Marketers of New York, commented. Winfield is presenting at the conference and (I’m assuming) one of the organizers of the IMNY’s Charity Party Monday night to kick off the event. The event, sponsored by Best of the Web, raises money for The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.

SMX Social Media To Provide Actual Networking

by · October 2, 2007

SMX Social MediaBrowsing the web tonight I checked in at Search Engine Land to read Danny Sullivan’s preview of the upcoming Wikipedia Clinic he’s leading at SMX Social Media in New York City. I’m attending the conference and am anxious to learn. It’s one of those agenda’s web geeks like me get jittery just thinking of all the cool stuff we’ll be able to absorb, discuss and blog about.
