Weekend Fun With Sarah East And The PopCrunch Show

We spend a good deal of time talking very seriously about social media, the social web and how businesses and individuals can use it here at Social Media Explorer. But the core of social media for a lot of people is fun. PopCrunch.com is one of the most well-trafficked and well loved celebrity gossip blogs on the Internet. It’s popularity has grown at an accelerated rate since the site added a web-TV element in The PopCrunch Show, an edge-pushing, bawdy take on weekly celebrity news featuring the lovely Sarah East. Sarah makes distasteful humor digestible because you don’t expect those kind of punch lines out of such a sweet looking lady.

Lessons Learned In HD Camcorder Purchasing

As many of you noticed, I’ve ramped up the frequency and quality of the video blog efforts recently with SME-TV. My interest in providing a video component as part of the offerings here stemmed from both my involvement in The Daily Idea (funny stuff, you should watch it regularly) and interest in pursuing web TV projects from a client.Canon Vixia HG 10To provide that client with the best quality equipment at the most affordable price, I was set loose on a shopping spree recently to purchase a high definition camcorder. And, as always when shopping for gadgets, I learned a couple things worth sharing.

Are You Considering Web Video? Why Not?

I’ll be the first to admit a blog is often the first thing that comes to mind when considering recommendations for clients interested in social media. My logic is that if you don’t have a place to syndicate your content and give customers an opportunity to interface with your brand directly, all the other activity you want to pursue can be fruitless.

Certainly, that doesn’t prohibit me from thinking interaction off-site (away from the client’s website) isn’t valuable. In many cases, it’s a good starting point before making a full-fledged commitment to engaging consumers on your own turf, almost like making sure a slip-and-fall lawsuit isn’t on your dime until you can afford it.
