Most of you know I’ve launched Exploring Social Media, a learning community for those needing help understanding and embracing social media and digital marketing. Well today, I’m excited to let you know that the first Exploring Social Media Business Summit is coming to Toledo, Ohio. I’ve assembled a rock-star roster of speakers to come to Toledo on Wednesday, May 18! We’re rolling into town for an all-day, intensive learning event at the Hilton Toledo that will put attendees on the path to a more effective and efficient social media marketing effort.

The event is ideal for public relations and communications professionals, marketing managers, small business owners, entrepreneurs and other professional communicators. For more detail on our agenda, read more about the ESM Toledo event. Or,  you can …

The roster of speakers will focus on teaching how content marketing and social media marketing go hand-in-hand. By the time you leave, you’ll understand better how to develop a social media and a content strategy to drive traffic, engagement and even leads or sales through your online efforts.

Our speakers include Joe Pulizzi of Junta42 and the Content Marketing Institute, social media strategist and consultant Allen MirelesErik Deckers, co-author of Branding Yourself and Twitter Marketing for Dummies; Exact Target co-founder and CompendiumCEO Chris BaggottCision‘s director of media research Val LopezMike Lewis, vice-president of sales and marketing for Awareness, Inc.; Cory Hartlen from Radian6 and Megan Feltes and Casey McCormick from email marketing provider Emma.

There will be networking time throughout the day. Attendees will receive breakfast and lunch and a one-month free trial subscription to Exploring Social Media. Our tentative agenda and registration is available on the ESM Toledo Event page.

The cost of the event is just $249.00, but we’re offering an early bird special of just $199.00 if you register before May 4. Members of the Toledo chapter of PRSA and the Advertising Club of Toledo qualify for an additional $50 off both of those prices, making the cost $149.00 (Early Bird) and $199.00 (regular price).

If you’re not familiar with events I’ve managed, none of the speakers will give sales pitches. This is an all day learning experience for you. While our sponsors (Awareness Inc., Cision, Compendium, Emma and Radian6) are all represented on the program, they’re going to break down their expertise for you. They’ll be in the room if you want to talk to them about their products, for certain, but each has been tasked with strong content that will help you get better as a digital marketer.

Straight Answers. Real Help. That’s our mission.

The Hilton Toledo is also a sponsor. We’re excited to have access to their facilities and yummy food for the event!

This will be the fourth of this type of event I have rolled out in the last two years, but the first for Exploring Social Media. The previous ones (two in Louisville and one in Central Virginia) were met with much praise from attendees. Biggs Tabler of Blackstone Media in Louisville even said, “I have never received more value for time committed or money invested in a seminar.” That’s pretty high praise. Biggs has been around a while and has attended more than his fair share, I’m sure.

Join us in Toledo! We’re going to have a blast and learn a ton.
